A couple years ago, I resurrected an old MBP 2011 with a failing Radeon GPU by applying a well-known EFI mod that bypasses the Radeon and forces it to always use the onboard Intel GPU. I also did a couple logic board mods, as recommended (removed resistor, added jumper). Worked great.
I'd like to try using OCLP to update the OS to Monterey or Ventura, but I'm concerned that it may not work on this particular machine. From what I understand, OCLP doesn't modify the stock EFI. Rather, it uses its own custom boot manager to act as middleware between the EFI and the OS.
Any advice? I certainly don't want to risk bricking this machine.
Thanks.
