Best macOS & OpenCore Version for Mid-2011 iMac (Radeon 6750M)?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a mid-2011 iMac 21.5” with 12GB RAM and a 250GB SSD. It’s currently running macOS High Sierra (10.13.6), but since many apps (like Chrome) are outdated and unsupported, I want to upgrade it using OpenCore Legacy Patcher.

The iMac is for an 11-year-old who will use it for basic school tasks, Office, YouTube, etc. My plan was to install macOS Monterey, but I’ve heard that some versions of OCLP have WiFi issues on this model. Also, the iMac has a Radeon 6750M GPU , which I believe is non-Metal, so I’m concerned about graphics acceleration problems.

I’d appreciate advice on: 1. Which macOS version is best for this iMac while keeping stability and performance in mind? Should I install Monterey, or is an older version like Big Sur a better choice? 2. Which version of OpenCore Legacy Patcher should I use to ensure WiFi works? 3. Are there any fixes for the Radeon 6750M GPU , or should I expect graphical issues?

A step-by-step guide or any reliable resource would be really helpful. Thanks in advance for your help!
