Screen flashing

I’ve had open core running fine for nearly a whole year now this is a 2017 MacBook Pro i5 that was running Sanoma then I open it one day to it flickering I update to sequoia to see if it stops and it does not I undo root patches which disables screen driver and internet access so the screen became very very small but the flickering stopped I redo root patches the flickering returns is my gpu just cooked?
