I just received the upgrade kit for my mid-2009 MBP MacBookPro5,3:
• new 1TB SSD (I’ll keep the 256MB Apple SSD with current running El Capitan) • USB 2.0 hub • USB keyboard (I gave away my last wired keyboard more than 10 years ago).
Now, the question I have for people that might have tried both on my gen MBP is: shall I install Sequoia directly on the new SSD, have an interim installation of a previous MacOS before moving to Sequoia, or shall I stay with an older MacOS release (which one? With OCLP or with u/dosdude1 patcher?)
Expected use case: I’d like to give my MBP to my 10y old daughter for light browsing/youtube, some email check and some extra light office kind of work, all part of her school program. Nothing more than that. She has no iPhone or any other smartphone.
Any advice based on experience will be more than appreciated. Thanks!
