So I got my MBP 8.1 late 2011 upgraded via OCP 2.2.0 to Ventura 13.7.2 in a shop after installing a new SSD (256GB) and expanding RAM (8GB). The machine works super smooth and I’m super happy with it butt after I got it back the keyboard light doesn’t work anymore. Today the guy checked if it's not a hardware thing and it's not. He said he won't be able to help me further since it can be just an incompatibility because of OCP. Before the light worked just fine both with High Sierra (already with the new hardware) and after a try of installing Sonoma last week (with the old, original hardware). The keys are responsive, the sensor reacts aka when I move my hand the bar in the settings goes up and down. I also disabled the adjust feature, still nothing. Did the NVRAM and SMD reset, too. So far I tried:
- Installing root patches again and got this info: "Root Patching will patch the following: Graphics: Intel Sandy Bridge Miscallaneous: Legacy Keyboard Backlight". After rebooting it stays the same though.
- Installing Labticker, as Dortania recommends, still nothing.
- Tried Touche, as some folks on OCP githib sugessted, also nothing.
Any idea what else can I do?
