Before I moved to Ventura, I made a clone of my iMac's drive to an external using Carbon Copy Cloner and verified that I was able to boot from the cloned drive. This was my emergency backup plan, or else (as is the case now) if I just needed something from my old setup.
Except now I can't boot to it. Holding OPTION at startup shows Macintosh HD (my internal Ventura drive), EFI Boot (on my internal drive), and EFI Boot (on my USB drive). My actual bootable cloned drive (called "Mac Clone") doesn't appear. If I select EFI Boot on the USB drive my iMac boots into 10.13 recovery mode. Through there I can go to Startup Disk and Mac Clone does appear there, and I can select it and hit reboot -- but my iMac won't reboot there, instead going into the OCLP EFI Boot partition on my internal drive.
How can I get my iMac to boot on my known-good cloned USB drive?
