Hi All,
I Have a mac pro 5,1 with a radeon pro vii a few days ago randomly after some time of the computer being on the screen would go black but any video would still be playing as i could hear it, i thought this was maybe a gpu issues so i tried to swap in my wx7100 and it had the same issue so i think it maybe something else, I also put in my original 5770 which worked but without the graphics acceleration, this never went black, all of this was on sonoma.
Thinking it was a software issues i tried all patches and updates but no luck so i put in a fresh hdd and installed sequoia the install went fine until i tried to restore from time machine backup of sonoma when the same thing happened after around an hour, i tried a again without time machine and all seemed good for around 2 hours until the same thing happened again. a few minuets after the black screen a loud beep started and then all the fans went to 100%
has anyone had this before or have any ideas, everything was working find before this
