Late 2013 27" iMac to BigSur ?

Hi all,

I have a barely used late 2013 27" iMac. 3.5 GHz i7, 8 GB memory.

I would like to run a couple of music production programs (Ableton and some VSTs) on my iMac.

However, a minimum of iOS 11, Big Sur is required to run these programs.

Unfortunately my iMac just missed out on this update, mid-2014 seems to be fine.

Just stumbled upon OCLP on an Ableton sub-reddit. I am really not much of a computer person, but the step by step guides seem to make it possible for a person like me.

What would be the best version of iOS to upgrade to that would be stable and not too lag-gy or slow?
