Hacked and Confused: A tale of midnight mayhem

Apple “fan” here. Two days ago, I was hacked on multiple fronts: all my social media accounts (X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) as well as Hotmail. It happened around 2 am when I started to receive emails to my Gmail, which is my primary username on those accounts, one after the other with a minute’s difference. Luckily, I was awake and started to recover all of them, which took me 3-4 hours with anxiety, of course.

Now, being paranoid with each notification and checking my inbox to find out what else is compromised, I still have no clue where the breach came from.

I know a little about securing my accounts, like generating and storing all my strong passwords for each platform separately in the native password app of the Apple ecosystem, plus using two-step verification here and there. Never thought this would happen to me.

Now, approaching any recent activity suspiciously, I even consider if OpenCore Legacy Patcher might be a direct/indirect threat. A month ago, I started using Sequoia on my late 2016 MBP. Of course, I synced iCloud and all passwords with my MBP. Very curious if anyone out there is experiencing the same.
