Hello all,
First off, I'd like to express my appreciation for the OCLP project. I love keeping old viable hardware up and running for as long as I can and appreciate that this project keeps hardware out of the landfill.
I'm using a Mac Pro 5,1 (Early 2009) Processor 2x 3.33 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon running macos12 and I have noticed an annoying problem recently where I cannot update permissions on files or little things like my default browser. I have full admin privileges on my machine.
Here's an example, .mkv files will default to Blu-Ray Player Pro which I have installed but I want them to default open with VLC. My usual trick of doing 'Get Info' on a file, changing the 'open with' application, and then hitting 'change all' does nothing, it just reverts back to its original state. I get the message that it will change the permissions of all files but then it just reverts back to the Blu-Ray Player.
Essentially the same thing happens with selecting my default browser. It gets stuck on Brave but when I try to change it to Safari or Chrome it just reverts back to Brave.
I believe these behaviors are related. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this and/or suggestions for how to fix?
