I am purchasing a MacBook Pro 2019 MVVL2BZ/A, and I would like to test some older versions of macOS on it, which I have never had the chance to use, to see what they were like in the past and to learn more about the evolution of Apple’s operating system.
I would like to test some versions that are no longer officially supported, such as:
- macOS Mojave (10.14)
- macOS High Sierra (10.13)
- macOS Sierra (10.12)
- OS X El Capitan (10.11)
- OS X Yosemite (10.10)
- OS X Mavericks (10.9)
Since installing these systems predating macOS Catalina is not possible due to the lack of official support on recent Apple hardware — mainly because of the unavailability of compatible drivers, among other issues — I would like to know if OpenCore could be helpful in this matter, specifically if it can be used as a custom bootloader to load these versions and make them work properly on this MacBook.
If so, what adjustments and kexts would be necessary? Is there an OpenCore page that could provide information on this? I am grateful in advance for any help received from the members.
