I just upgraded from the latest native version of my MBP to Monterey (an hour ago), with a clean reinstall, it seemed to work fine (didn't try to move my files on there). And then I was tempted to upgrade further, to Sonoma (since Sequoia doesn't support TM migration).
I reformatted my external 1TB HD (that I used for Monterey), downloaded the OPLC Sonoma installer file onto it, installed the OPL to the internal disk, then rebooted. I proceeded following the same steps from my Monterey install, wiped internal after rebooting in disk manager (APFS reset), then clicked on install Sonoma. After selecting the location for Sonoma install (my just wiped internal), it says immediately "An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again." (see screenshot in comments below).
I have rebooted the mac several times since, tried erasing the internal several times (APFS), but it keeps getting stuck at exactly the same point.
Here are my specs: MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) Intel HD, 16GB ram, 500GB SSD, intel core i7
Can someone help please?
