Hi folks 👋🏼
I’d been running Ventura on my Hack until recently, and everything was working perfectly, including power management. Sleep worked great, even with all the Apple modifications switched on (like Power Nap, Wake for Network etc). It would sleep, and the machine would occasionally wake by itself (without switching on the displays) to do stuff, and go back to sleep again (darkwake / powernap). And it would wake from BT / USB input or attempts to access File Sharing.
So far, so good.
I’ve had to update to a more recent version of macOS to run the latest version of Xcode. And now, sleep doesn’t work properly. I’m seeing a seemingly never-ending sleep / wake loop where the machine goes down, and then quite quickly (maybe 10-20 secs) comes back up again *including the displays*, and shows the login screen. Assuming my Watch doesn't unlock it, it goes down again. And then the sequence repeats.
I’m on Sequoia now, but I had to install Sonoma first (there’s currently an issue building the Sequoia USB installer). And I saw the same behavior under Sonoma, so it started there.
I haven’t dug into the logs yet. I figured I’d reach out here first, since I suspect I’m not the first to run into this.
My OC config is unchanged from the version that gave a 100% result under Ventura, aside from the necessary setting of SecureBootModel to ‘Disabled’.
OC 1.0.1 w/ manually made config from Dortania guide (updates for the past year or 2 via OCAT)
USB mapped
SMBIOS MacPro7,1
Asrock z390 Phantom Gaming
Intel i9 9900k
Radeon 6650XT (patched in OC to be recognized as 6600XT)
WD Black 2TB SSD
32GB RAM
Fenvi Wifi / BT (works fine using OCLP, but the issue was present before patching)
