After being on Catalina for 5 years I wanted to give it a go at updating. I was kept back by lazyness and the fact that I had a solid hack going. EFI made with OpCore Simplify (thanks to u/BlockNew6180) which solved the lazy-part of the problem. EFI almost working OOB and seemingly working perfectly with a few fixes.

So far running for two days with no serious issues detected.

Works: everything so far. Wifi and graphics acceleration working thanks to OCLP, i-services flawless so far as well. No sleep issues detected so far.

Doesn't work: nothing.

Issues: Occasionally on boot wifi is a bit iffy. Either not connecting properly or not showing at all as if the root patch doesn't get applied at boot. Rebooting or disabling/enabling wifi solves it. Instability of hacking I suppose. When connected and detected it works fine.

Firefox is slow as f... and won't load any webpages or anything. Takes over a minute to start up and opening a new tabs causes it to hang for 30s or so.

Adguard for Safari crashes almost immediately after being launched.

Specs:

CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1245 V2

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 480

Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-v Pro

Wifi: BCM43602 from a 2015(?) MBP in a PCI-adapter

SSD: Intenso-something I had lying around. Will migrate to main disk when proven stable
