MacBook Pro 8.1 late 2011 . I’m running Ventura on the internal drive and Sequoia on a external drive. On Ventura using QuickTime if I record from an external source ( my old canon camcorder ) using the FireWire port , my recordings on playback on QuickTime are opaqued by patchy green and purple blocks.
I can start Screen recordings but don’t see any controls to stop the recording, so not quite right.
In Sequoia using QuickTime my screen recording is perfect with good sound and picture, however after recording from the external source ( my old canon camcorder) when I go to save said recording, QuickTime says “unable to record try later“……. Tried a few things, not winning.
On Photo Booth , the software sees my external device ,the camcorder , I can tick it to select it , but the software doesn’t switch over to the camcorder , in both Ventura and Sequoia , so again not winning.
If anyone more capable than me can suggest something I would appreciate it, failing that some simple video recording software for a MacBook .
I did download Handbrake to see if that would fix my green / purple blotchy videos but the videos end up being Totally black. ….Many thanks to all.
