Hi everyone, I’m having some trouble with the post-installation root patch using OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP) and was hoping to get some advice. I have a mid-2012 MacBook, which I managed to update to macOS Catalina with system upgrade. However, I haven’t been able to upgrade to any version beyond Catalina since then. Recently, I’ve been trying to install macOS Sequoia using OCLP, but I keep running into the same issue. Here’s the problem:
When I first installed OCLP, the Post-Install Root Patch option was available, and I even managed to apply it the first time. However, after that, the option became greyed out and has remained unclickable every time I open OCLP.
I’ve already built and installed OpenCore on my MacBook, created a macOS Sequoia installer on a USB drive, and booted into it. After selecting the installer from the OpenCore boot menu, the installation seems to proceed, but here’s where the problem starts: After booting, I’m taken to a login screen with my username displayed. However, there is no password input field, so I can’t log in at all. This issue persists every time I try booting into Sequoia, leaving me unable to access the system. I’ve already tried rebuilding OpenCore, reinstalling the Sequoia installer, and ensuring I’m using the latest OCLP version, but the issue with the root patch and the login screen persists. Has anyone run into similar issues, or does anyone know how I might be able to fix this? I’d really appreciate any advice or suggestions! Thank you so much! [link] [comments] |
