Improvements & Suggestions:
Graphics Performance (HD4000):
- HD4000 can be a bit sluggish, but try tweaking the framebuffer settings in
config.plist
with WhateverGreen.kext to see if it improves. - Using the boot argument
igfxvesa
might help with stability, though it can limit resolution.

HDMI Audio:
- Since HDMI is working but without sound, check if adding a patched AppleALC layout ID for the Realtek ALC270 can help. You might need to experiment with IDs, but try injecting layout ID
3
or28
first, as these are commonly compatible with ALC270.

Ethernet and USB WiFi Stability:
- Your TP-Link Archer T2U Nano should work well with Chris1111’s drivers, but Ethernet can sometimes take priority, causing disconnects.
- Try disabling the Ethernet in
System Preferences > Network
when using USB WiFi for a more stable connection.
iMessage and FaceTime:
- For iMessage, check that you’ve added unique serial numbers, MLB, and ROM values in
PlatformInfo
in OpenCore’sconfig.plist
(GenSMBIOS can generate these). - Sign out of iCloud on macOS, restart, and sign back in. Apple’s verification servers can be picky, so a unique set of serials may help.
- For iMessage, check that you’ve added unique serial numbers, MLB, and ROM values in
HD4000 Brightness Control:
- If brightness controls are not fully responsive, try using the BrightnessKeys.kext or
SSDT-PNLF.aml
in the ACPI folder to improve control. This may also need adjustments inconfig.plist
forWhateverGreen
brightness settings.
- If brightness controls are not fully responsive, try using the BrightnessKeys.kext or
PS/2 Keyboard and Trackpad:
- If you’re using a custom PS/2 kext, double-check that it’s the latest VoodooPS2Controller kext version. This can improve response and customisation for gestures if enabled in the kext’s preferences.
Bluetooth Fix:
- Sometimes, macOS has trouble recognising the Atheros Bluetooth. Disabling the WiFi portion can interfere, so if you don’t need WiFi, try enabling just Bluetooth from
System Preferences > Bluetooth
to maintain functionality.

Sounds like you’ve covered a lot of ground already! Enjoy running Sequoia on your K46CM, and great job working through all those hurdles!
