Boot sequence installation problems

I’m attempting to install macOS Sequoia on an early 2016 MacBook using OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP). According to the OCLP compatibility list, this model should be supported without any issues.

I successfully created and patched the USB installer following the instructions. The installation starts as expected (after selecting the USB stick on the boot screen). However, after the initial installation and rebooting into the USB stick's EFI and selecting "Install macOS," the process begins (showing "29 minutes remaining") but then the MacBook shuts down unexpectedly.

When I boot again into "Install macOS," the same part of the installation process repeats, only to shut down again.

I suspect the issue might be related to a non-original EFI configuration. This MacBook previously had OpenSUSE set up for dual-boot with GRUB and rEFInd. Even after fully formatting the internal drive using dd as described here, the problem persists.

Secure Boot seems to be properly disabled (I ran csrutil disable to confirm this).

Does anyone have any suggestions or insights that could help? I would greatly appreciate that!
