So I followed the steps. I think I may have made a mistake where I installed the installer to the disk first using the legacy patcher but then there was no option to select the disk during the next step. That’s when I realized I had to install it to a flash drive first and went ahead and did that. This is the only mistake I can think of because I pretty much followed the steps exactly.

After the last step when booting in the EFI. I was met with a prohibited screen. I NVRAM reset. Tried to get into recovery mode to no avail. Internet recovery worked and I reinstalled OSX to a flash drive to boot. I wasn’t given the option to use my disk and I can’t erase the disk because I have no backups of my data.

I see some tutorials showing some commands in the terminal might help

Does anyone know a solution ? Does partitioning the disk allow me to reinstall and save my data ?

Some family gave me an old ~2010 MacBook 7,1 . I have limited knowledge/use with apple stuff. I'm just trying to get GarageBand working on this thing for basic recording.

I found some youtube video that outlines the simplicity of oclp. I plugged in my SD card thumb drive followed the steps in the vid and keep getting stuck with "less than one minute remaining" which doesn't go away even being left overnight. I've tried restarting after unlugging the USB drive and selecting install OS but then the install freezes part way through.

Can someone help me out here? The YouTube video did me wrong lol

Hi, I have a 2010 MBP running on Ventura through OCLP, but I don't really want it running like that anymore because of the performance issues (barely can run vanilla terraria) and I don't really need any of the features of Ventura, as well as some functions not working anymore (bluetooth, ethernet, disc drive) as well as running very hot and draining its battery faster than usual. As well as it randomly shutting down from some sort of error if i don't touch it for a while (huge pain when downloading bigger files).Any idea how to bring it back to High Sierra, or even better just run Catalina (a lot more things still support Catalina)? Should I go back further to older versions of OSX?

My computer (2013 Macbook Pro 13") has been running fine for a while under version 1.5.0 until this morning when I woke to find my computer's battery had fully drained. After getting it charged and turning it on I got the dreaded auto update request "A new version of OpenCore Legacy Patcher is available!" for version 2.0.2. I say dreaded because I have been burned by updating in the past so I really just want to stick with 1.5.0. However, and this has happened two previous times, once this auto update notification appears, my computer gets excruciatingly slow for reasons I do not understand. In the past I have caved and updated out of desperation, but this results in hours of work. In order to prevent this happening again I had checked "Ignore App Updates" in the settings the last time I updated, but it seems that doing so did not work - I still am receiving the app update notification. Does anyone know why when the app update notification gets triggered my computer gets so bogged down? There seems to be nothing I can do to get rid of the notification and get my computer working normally again on 1.5.0. It's just so so slow. Thanks.
