Please help with this weird issue! Im looking for anyone that has a pre-2011 MBP (hence a SATA2 connector) and is willing to do a speedtest on their (upgraded/added) SSD so i can understand if im getting expected speeds. I recently upgraded my old mid 2009 with 8 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD and a new fresh battery but the speeds are just awful and the computer is slow beyond the point of being unusable - opening safari is like 15 "jumps in dock" before anything happens - so now im troubleshooting what is the error. Im getting the new battery replaced since it had "Service Recommended" the first times i used it and health was a 94% (unacceptable for a new one). So that might be an issue - or its the SSD itself. Im getting write speeds of 118-160 MB/s (see images) which is no way near what should be expected? 300 MB/s is theoretical max. So 250 MB/s would be reasonable but 118? No way. So if ANYONE who has a pre 2011 MB with SSD could be so kind to do a speedtest with blackmagic disc speed test i would be forever grateful! SSD is wiped clean and formatted to APFS. SPECS: MBP 5,5 (MId 2009), 8 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, OCLP 2.0.2 - SONOMA 14.7 [link] [comments] |
