Running Sonoma on a 2014 iMac 27inch and having some issues. Apps stop working and will not reopen, often need to do a hard shut down. Just set this computer up last week.

So I'm wondering if I should downgrade or what, perhaps there's something I have overlooked. Basically, throughout the day things will just stop working correctly. I might be deleting some message from mail, which will stop working. I'll force quit the app, and then when I try to start the app again, it will not open. It will just continue to bounce on my dock and then nothing happens. I've had the same thing happen with other apps too like handbrake. It's just such an odd issue, not sure what to make of it. I always have to restart, and sometimes the iMac won't even restart successfully and I'll have to hold the power button to shut down.

Any advice?
