VoodooSMBus is just for the i801 SMBus controller in the PCH and won't talk to the touchpad on its own, so I'm not surprised that it is attaching. I am surprised that the version can't be found though. I am guessing it might be an older device which is not supported by the driver unfortunately. I don't have a good way to test that though.
