HW : Mac Mini Server 2011 (aka version5,3) Currently running El Capitan Downloaded Sequoia, created "standard" installer (no settings changed), written on USB stick. (re)boot with the option key only shows original OS.
Checked USB format : is HPFS (as required)
Repeated the process , but before reboot tried to set the start disk to the USB partition: that was impossible (something to do with the bless command?). It appears in the list of partitions to boot from , you can perform the action , but it returns a fault message ... I don't know if that is normal in this particular case, but it strikes me as odd . In other circumstances I would expect for a 100% to be able to set it as the startup disk.
Any ideas / suggestions?
