Hello all, I was using Catalina as my first Hackintosh for a few years, worked pretty well. I decided to upgrade to latest OC 1.0.1 and Monterey 12.7.6., I got it to work a few days ago so I need to test more but so far it is working pretty well.. What’s working:
Need to test:
* Hardware: CPU: 5800XT GPU: Red Devil 5700XT RAM: 16 GB VENGEANCE LPX Motherboard/Laptop model: TUF GAMING X570-PRO (WI-FI) BIOS 5003 Screen(s) Number: 1 Screen(s) Resolution: 2560 x 1440 @ 143.00Hz Audio Codec: AppleALC & Realtek ALC S1200A Ethernet Card: Intel I225-V Wifi/BT Card: Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 & stock (maybe Intel?) BT5.0
* What guide/tool I followed: Main opencore guide Intel I225-V guide: https://github.com/5T33Z0/Gigabyte-Z490-Vision-G-Hackintosh-OpenCore/blob/main/I225-V_FIX.md
* What part I got an issue with:
* What files/config I am using: Using agdpmod=pikera in boot-arg * Extra Info: I was using Catalina for a few years, it worked great for the most part besides sleep/wake issue and sidecar I wasn't able to get it to work. I was behind a year in OC so first I updated my config to latest OC then making sure Catalina was still booting..I use the same one as template to generate a new one for Monterey. BIG MISTAKE. Upon further reading, I noticed the BT kext where changed for Monterey also the AMD CPU patches are different for Monterey. Once I got those resolved, I was able to boot but it would take long..around 20 minutes..I disable all BT kext and remove Windows 10 on another NVME and disable two SSD used by Windows in SATA in BIOS..after that, Monterey booted in few minutes for initial install and was able to see my previous Catalina install and no issues after that. I reenable the two SSDs in BIOS and Monterey is able to see them, booting still fast.. [link] [comments] |
