Stuck in a reboot loop (screenshot)

I am trying to update my 2016 MBP from Monterey to Sonoma. I am following all the steps from Mr. macintosh video and got to the install and reboot. Everything was working but after selecting the install Sonoma option and rebooting I am stuck in a loop.

• Rebooted holding option and got to the installer. Selected the EFI Boot option (yellow icon)
• Started installation on Macintosh HD
• After 20+ min of install the computer reboots again and lands on 1 of 3 screens

1. The “regular” user login screen (but low res). Attempting to login results in a reboot.
2. language selection and then a “MacOS recovery” window. If I login to my Apple ID it tells me “no users found” and reboots again.

Really stuck here after spending a few hours rebooting and trying different options. Appreciate any help!
