This is a strange case. I have the need to run 10.6.8 and really don’t want to buy a giant Mac Pro or get an under powered mini from 2010 and the 2011 MacBooks are plagued with GPU issues.

I really need 10.6.8 to run some vintage audio gear connected via FireWire and with Rosetta I should be able to run some PPC apps as well.

So I’m looking at dell optiplex 990 with i7-2600

I’m hoping open core and 10.6 works.

I need a guide or some form of direction to determine what works on this optioned with able leopard.

I’m new to this and def have technical skills just have a very specific need and want to save money.
