How to get around KEXTs when compiling XNU?

I want to build the latest Darwin from source, and though a lot is still unplanned, one major issue is building the latest xnu?

Why TF would I do this when I could literally just use PureDarwin?

Cuz it's not the LATEST Darwin version out there. They're forking old, albeit reliable, code.
