Hey all—in need of a little wisdom here, as I'm new to OpenCore and need a specific question answered before I inadvertently frustrate the hell out of myself 😄
I've got a Mac Pro 5,1 running El Capitan, and ideally I'd like to be able to boot into that OS and use all my apps with the same stability that I can currently, while also exploring an eventual permanent transition to Ventura.
I'm planning to use SuperDuper to clone my current boot volume to a second dedicated SSD installed internally, and install Ventura to that duplicate, ideally keeping all my apps and plug-ins intact and upgrading them selectively as necessary (I know there will likely be plenty). The question I'm having a hard time answering is: will OpenCore affect my system integrity in some universal way (perhaps on the firmware level) and prevent me from booting into the original El Capitan volume without issues?
I'm hopeful that I'll be in the clear with this whole approach, but I'm not confident enough to take the plunge without posing the question here. Thanks in advance 🤙
