Booting but no graphics? mbp9,1 gt650m

I recently replaced my faulty 2011 board with a 2.3 2012 board. it boots into the installer just fine but after installing to my drive, it boots to this. I can hear the setup screenreader and the keyboard backlight works, but this is all I cam see. What did I do wrong?
