Poor font rendering on MBP non-Retina running Sonoma 14.6.1

I just installed macOS 14.6.1 on a mid-2012 15" MacBook Pro using OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP), and everything seems to be working fine overall.

However, the fonts look terrible, which I understand is because Apple has disabled subpixel antialiasing. This is causing poor rendering on non-Retina displays. I’ve tried re-enabling it following the instructions here, but nothing seems to work.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
