Mid 2012 Macbook pro Retina - open core Sonoma 14.5

use this computer for work, have been on 14.5 for about a month now i believe no issues whatsoever. today i boot it up and the background shows up for a split second and goes white. everything running very very slow, apps and safari. tried restart, smc reset, pram reset, no luck. i noticed an updated popped up as available for 14.6, would that cause this issue? i’m new to using opencore from when i first installed, am i able to just update from the software update section or can that brick the computer? thank you for any response, sorry im a lil stupid.
