Everything I read on the OCLP getting started section tells me I'm going to struggle with a 3,1. I have a 5,1 [patched 4,1] with Metal2 GPU I ultimately want to try get up to Ventura, but I wanted to get my feet wet on a spare Mac, not my daily driver. OCLP says both these machines have a legacy USB 1.1 which may be an issue.
https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/issues/108 seems to say that my stock HD5770 will be OK if not fantastic, but I'm not sure what https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/issues/1021 is telling me about the USB drivers. [I have no issue on removing the old Bluetooth card, but I need USB to function.]
Is this basically saying 2.0 peripherals will work, just older 1.1 will fail? If I have a USB 2.0 hub with devices connected that show only 12Mb/s will these fail to work?
If that's a definite yes, then there's no point in me starting, because I have some [very expensive] legacy pro audio gear that will never be updated.
I know these old Mac Pros always had an issue with failing to correctly recognise USB 2 if hot-swapped, hence the external USB 2 hub which would force correct recognition. idk if this is part of the OCLP issue, or not.
