Late 2013 Macbook Pro 15 11,3 16GB to Ventura or Sonoma

I've been running a Late 2013 Macbook Pro 15 with 16GB RAM on Big Sur. It works surprisingly well, other than fan noise when doing intensive tasks. The Big Sur is just whatever I've upgraded over the years - not a clean install. I bought the machine new, and the last clean install I did was likely 5+ years ago.

I'd like to upgrade to at least Ventura because I'm stuck on an older version of Logic being the only one compatible with Big Sur. It runs surprisingly well for my needs - way more tracks than Ableton can use, smooth plug-ins, etc.

But I'm looking for access to the latest version, and that requires 13.5 at a minimum I think.

Any thoughts or experience with this specific combo? I have a full clone of the drive, but it could be a pain if it wrecks the system. I'm planning to upgrade soon, but holding out to see what the M4 Mini or something like that might look like.

If I could upgrade to Ventura or Sonoma and not have any major issues, that would be nice - but not sure if there's anything specific to worry about with this combo and Logic, daily use, Adobe products, etc.

TL;dr If I want to use a Late 2013 Macbook Pro 15 with 16GB with Logic, can I use OCLP to upgrade my existing Big Sur or do I need a fully clean install - and should I try for Ventura or Sonoma?
