I upgraded from Monteray to Sonoma on my 2008 Macbook and usb hub is not detecting Keyboard or the mouse

I bought a usb hub and it works in the boot picker when i move the mouse and click enter on keyboard, but on the sonoma login screen it doesnt work. The mouse and keyboard shut off when a apple logo appears after the boot picker. The keyboard light are on but no input is detected
