Getting audio to work (without alcid boot flag)

Hi,

I've managed to get audio to work in my laptop using AppleALC with alcid=21 (the codec is ALC287).

I've then followed the post install instructions to make the audio config permanent. Using gfxutil -f HDEF, I got this: PciRoot(0x1)/Pci(0x8,0x1)/Pci(0x0,0x6).

So I've created a Dictionary with this name under DeviceProperties -> Add, and in it I created a layout-id field of type integer (using Xplist as the plist editor), and put 21 as the value. Of course, I then removed the alcid=21 boot flag.

After a reboot, macOS doesn't list any audio output devices. What am I doing wrong?
