Disable Firmware Throttling on Macbook Pro 10,2 w/o battery

I've been using my Late 2013 15" Macbook Pro as a Plex server for the last couple of years and that has been working fine. This week the battery started acting up (wouldn't boot with the battery installed). Instead of replacing it again I'm trying to run it without battery. I've used OpenCore Legacy Patcher to install Sonoma and this is succesful, but when I try to install a version where Disable Firmware Throttling is ticked, after installation the MacBook keeps rebooting on the login screen. Is there any way I can fix this, or would this just be my power adapter not being able to provide the same amount of power as the battery?
