very slow performance on sonoma, macbook air 2017

i downloaded opencore on my macbook because i wanted to be able to use a newer version of macos, and i downloaded sonoma version 14.3.1 on my mac, it worked fine for about 2 months until it started being unbelievably slow. it got so bad to the point where its starting to become unusable. i don’t know much about opencore, or mac os so i need help 😞
