Updating and dual boot questions

Hello people,

I have a couple of question about updating and dual boot:

1) I would like to learn how to update my hackintosh

2) I bought another ssd where I would like to install Linux, what is the best way to do it?

I build my hackintosh but I got the file conf done by a community, I know I can follow a guide step by step but I would like to understand better the process of these things especially open core and the efi situation.Anyone with spare time wanna send me link to good guide, good video about these topics, I d appreciate that a lot.
