My MBP is now over 11 years old and still working extremely well. I used it every day for work and now studies (full-time adult student).
I guess like many others I need to upgrade the macOS as apps such as teams and chrome are no longer available on macOS X (I was running 10.15).
After reading guides and watching some tutorials on how to use OCLP to upgrade, I gave it a go. I opted for Ventura as I thought it might be better to not go for the newest macOS, hoping it may be more successful for the hardware on my Mac, etc.
It installed smoothly but I have a few issues I was hoping someone could give some advice on please?
1. When I start my Mac without the flash drive used for the OLCP inserted, it doesn’t boot up but it has the image of a grey folder with a question mark bouncing around the screen. Does this mean it hasn’t installed correctly or have I done something wrong?
2. When booted up (flash drive inserted) the text and icons are tiny. My Mac has Nvidia GT650M and the intel HD standard GPU.
3. OCLP pops up and says there are two patches needed, Nvidia Kepler(?) and intel non-metal. I have downloaded these and the message says downloaded correctly and asks to reboot, but on reboot it keeps popping up again saying the patches are required, etc.
4. Last issue is that the Mac is very slow and lagging; opening some apps or files causes freezing or the spinning wheel for several minutes.
If anyone could offer some help or advice, I would be extremely grateful. I have attached a few screen shots in case it helps.
Many thanks in advance for your time and support.
