Is there any hope with an i7-1250u?

I've got a laptop (HP Envy) that has this CPU, and it also has Iris Xe graphics. I've read about the graphics not being supported but not sure about the CPU. I always thought 10th gen was the last supported generation but have seen successes with 11th and 13th gen, which is why I'm asking. I could use an eGPU but the problem is I only have a spare 1080ti, not an AMD graphics card. Also I'm assuming lots of drivers won't work, but is it possible even if it's slow/unstable? I don't need the latest macOS.
