I am on a MacBook Pro 9,2 running Sonoma 14.5 with intel i5 2.5ghz processor. I was running 14.4.1 before I upgraded again to the new latest version of macOS. A couple days before I decided to upgrade os the desktop stopped working. I attempted to restart the computer and that didn’t do anything. I just let it be because I could still access the files on it through the Desktop folder in finder, and I had been encountering a couple of these issues where some critical system task stops running and crashes so I figured it was another one of those issues could fix by restarting the computer which didn’t work as I said. I also tried relaunching finder but i expected that to not work. After I let it be for a few days I upgraded the os and applied root patches once again. That still didn’t fix the desktop so i figured i’d post on reddit about it.
Anyone got any ideas? Also if you’re an OCLP pro I have another couple more issues i’ll make a post about so you can help me, or i’ll just dm you about it.
