Can someone ELI5 how to Fix iServices post install?

I have a late 2013 iMac 27-inch and installed OCLP with Ventura onto an external SSD. I updated the OS to Sonoma 14.5 through the App Store. I'm just really struggling to follow the instructions here: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Post-Install/universal/iservices.html. Thank you.

Serato Issues on Sonoma and Monterey?

I’m running Sonoma and Monterey on different mid 2012 MacBook Pro models, each with 16gb of RAM and 1TB SSD. Serato is not working in the latest iteration, 3.1.5, only in any release 2.5.12 or older. The problem is that we only use Pioneer FLX10 and there isn’t support for these on the older versions of Serato. Is anyone else having these issues? Any fixes?

Crypto Mining rig hackintosh?

I used to mine crypto few years back, my rig are now collecting dust. Been looking to purchase Mac Studio M2 Max or Ultra.

After seeing this video it got me intrigued on a hackintosh https://youtu.be/UIbTB0ZVxno?si=Mtgh__QGM-HwJfSb

Still plan on purchasing a Mac Studio, But I thought I try to repurpose these rig. I want to have Mac OS machine with better GPU as I work on Blender and Unity3d project. The 3090 is sufficient for my need in my desktop for window build. Currently I have m1 MacBook Pro and it pretty good too. But Ai need more.

Before m1 Mac I used 2017 IMac with 64 gig ram and recently upgraded to Sonoma with open core. Now I can run Xcode 15 again. But want to have a better GPU. I couldn’t get the power color egpu to work on the iMac. I did get it to work on my 2016 MacBook Pro, but the performance loss due to thunderbolt wasn’t good. My bottleneck right now is GPU on Mac. I need the GPU performance to above 20 core or similar to rtx3090.

Don’t want to spend too much time and money on this hackintosh. Maybe 4-8 hours and under $500 if I need extra parts

My options

Option 1. Just Buy M2 Ultra studio ($3.5-4k)

Option 2. I buy a Mac Pro 2018-2019 and add in video card. (Under $2k)

Option 3. Build hackintosh with part I have ($500)

iMac (27-inch, mid 2010) - macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 - Upgrade or just install OpenCore?

Good afternoon, guys, how are you? I apologize in advance for my ignorance in the Mac world and computing itself.

I bought an iMac from an acquaintance, as I didn't have a computer and I currently use it for editing images in Capcut online, watching YouTube, Canva and browsing the internet.

I would like to be able to use it in the best way, whether editing videos and images using Adobe programs such as AfterEffects, Illustrator, Photoshop and others.

Memory 12GB Installed. Storage Macintosh HD 2TB SATA Disk

Can I install OpenCore directly or do I need an upgrade? Would the last one be Monterey?

I really like it, especially for the size of the screen and I would like to continue making the most of it.

Below are photos of the iMac configurations.

Thanks in advance!

How is your experience running macOS Monterey on an older MacBook?

I own a MacBook Pro 2011 with 8GB Ram and an upgraded SSD and I recently upgraded my OS to Monterey

I have noticed my MacBook running hot (around 80-90 degrees) when I'm browsing on the internet and around 60 degrees while at idle.

I know that this is an old MacBook and for sure that its not going to run a newer OS perfectly fine, but I just wanted to know how other peoples experience is running Monterey on their 2011 or older MacBook?

(Monterey) Dual monitor troubles

CPU: i7-3770S

GPU: Gigabyte R7 370 (if knowing the full specs will help more please ask i'll reply with them)

Having trouble with my dual monitor set up on Monterey

My main monitor (which works just fine if the second one is disconnected) is connected through HDMI, the second one is connected through DVI

The issue is when the second monitor is connected, the system starts to stutter consistently (sometimes only the cursor doesnt), and no image would show up on the second monitor either (sometimes, for like a millisecond it'd show an "Unsupported resolution")

I tried messing around in system preferences > Monitor to see if i could get it to work, but nothing. I also tried putting raddvi in my boot-args but that didnt help

Sonoma 14.5 update problems (Sleep/wake and freeze)

Hello,
a few days ago I switched to 14.5 (from 14.4.1).
No problems during the update, but after some time I realized that Sleep/Wake no longer works as expected and that sometime I have some sudden freezes (usually after some hours of working and under NO load).

My installation is the one described here:

I'm using OC 1.0.0

Has anyone had similar problems?

OpenCore on natively supported Macs

Hey guys, I have a question: I found a Cloud-locked MacBook Pro 16.3 from 2020 (x86-based). I have been doing hackintoshs/using OpenCore for years now but still don’t know if I could bypass the lock by spoofing things as SystemUUID, Serial Number etc. OCLP EFI is not yet available for 16.3 MacBooks as it is natively supported. Any suggestions how to do it? Thanks in advance.

Smart Memory Access

Trying to put MacBook Pro internals into a pc case

So I’ve been thinking about taking the necessary internals of my MacBook (broken screen everything else works fine) and integrating them into the PC case I have now. My GPU is far beyond the specs I need so I’m not worried about having two cpus running on a single GPU (if that’s even possible). And same goes for the power bank I’m using (1200w). The tower is very large with a lot of room left, and an overload of fans, and an AIO cooler for the cpu (I have a brand new extra if I need it for the MacBook CPU).

Essentially my end goal would be to have windows running on my right monitor and a Mac OS on my left, but the source coming from one tower. I’m thinking the easiest way it’s to keep them separate and have separate hdmi to each monitor, and the only thing that connects the Mac to the pc side is usage of the GPU. I’m just unsure if it’s even possible to integrate a mac cpu with an external GPU, and would I need a whole new motherboard (obviously mine rn only has room for one cpu) could I maybe just use the Mac GPU and essentially not have it connected to the pc at all other than the power bank?

Apologies if this is hard to read haha. I’m a novice at PC builds and am very very bored this morning. Plus it’d be kinda cool, and I’m guessing it’ll take stress off my PC because I’ll no longer be using that OS on the left and only the right monitor?

Thank you 🫡

What do you guys do if apple support asks you to share your screen on a hackintosh?

I was calling apple support for something else (logging in to apple music on windows just to rule out the possibility that I cannot log into it from anything other than my phone on apple music, I was hoping to fix iservices soon) and during the call, I was asked to share the screen, and if that happened on a hackintosh, they might be supicious about the fact that hackintool is installed, so that's the inspiration for the question. So what do you guys do if apple support asks you to share your screen?

I can help people build USB and efi for install

Can someone give me some insight on how to get Intel Bluetooth to be recognized by MacOS BigSur.

So I was able to get everything else enabled and recognized by the OS. I’ve got WiFi, audio, usb ports, iServices, etc. The only thing I don’t have is Bluetooth. Now I could go without it but it’s a challenge I want to conquer.

I’ve tried numerous things. I have downloaded Bluetooth Kexts out the whazoo. IntelBluetoothFirmware.kext, BlueFixup.kext, IntelBluetoothPatcher, etc. I’ve tried them all and I’ve tried them together (I’m probably butchering the names but I’m not near my laptop). Then I tried inputting a child under my VRAM with the name bluetoothinternalsomethingicantremember value 00000 etc. and it still didn’t work.

What other solutions could there be? Am I just out of luck. I’ve mapped my usbs, I’ve installed .kexts that I assumed would work, but I’ve come up short.

What should I try next? Searching on Amazon for a dongle? lol

I want to update to Ventura on my Mac using opencore legacy patcher but the weather may be bad to do it

Hackintosh Surface Laptop 3 (13.5)

Hi, first time posting here 😂
My Surface laptop 3 is currently running Windows 11 my questions are:
- Is it possible to dual-boot Windows and MacOS? If yes then Sonoma vs Ventura which is more stable in supporting x86 platform?
- If it is unable to dual-boot then what kind of features would I lose if I install MacOS (I know Windows Hello facial recognition is not gonna work)
- Will the battery last longer on MacOS in comparison to Windows (or Ubuntu)
- Last but not least, is it a pain in the ass to install
Thanks for reading and answering and sorry for my bad English 😢

Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5 1035G7
GPU: Intel Iris Plus (it isn't Intel Iris Xe so I think it isn't a problem)

OS X Mavericks issue

My Specs:

Intel Core i5-4210U Processor, 1.7 GHz

Memory: 12 GB Total DDR3 Memory, 1600 MHz

GPU: Intel Graphics 4400 HD (Intergrated)

Laptop Make & Model: Toshiba Satellite E45-B4204

macOS Version: mac OS X Mavericks

The issue is that it is giving me this error:

**** [IOBluetoothHCIController][SearchForTransportEventTimeOutHandler ] -- MIssing Bluetooth Controller Transport!

and it just stops right there. I looked this issue up. I tried using the "-f" arg in the boot-args, and disabling Intel Virtualization Technology in my BIOS menu. But none of them seem to work. Do I have to add any other .kext files or change the boot args?

Edit: I did some researching and it looks like this error has nothing to do with Bluetooth, but it is a graphics error I think.

Here are my current boot args:

AirportItlwm isn't working

Hello, I am running MacOS Ventura with the latest version of OpenCore and AirportItlwlm. I am using an Intel AC 8265 for my wifi card.

MacOS lets me turn my wifi on and off but it doesn't show any networks. When trying to open HeliPort it says "itlwm is not running". It then gives me another wifi symbol in the top bar but doesn't show any networks. I've reinstalled the kext through OpenCore Configurator but it still didn't work. I even forced the kext to load with no errors but it still won't work. I tried using ChatGPT to help me and it didn't help but it told me to load a logfile and this is what I got from it: https://pastebin.com/VxMkmniC

Any Ideas on how to fix this?

Thinkpad Z16 - Full AMD hackintosh laptop questions

Just ordered a Thinkpad Z16 laptop, has a Ryzen 9 Pro 6950H with 680M iGPU and a dedicated AMD RX 6500M GPU.

The dGPU is natively supported in macOS, but now i'm also reading that a mux switch is necessary to be able to use it under macOS. Is that true? Is there no other way around that? I'm not sure if the Z16 has a mux switch but I did find one comment on reddit saying it doesn't. and I think the iGPU 680M is not supported at all yet so thats a no go as well?

If I do indeed absolutely need a mux switch to use the dGPU in macOS, then what about some sort of virtualization - could I have a different host OS and then passthrough the dGPU to macOS, as it is natively supported?

Thanks guys!

What is your experience with Hackintoshing?

I’ll go first.

Ever since I recieved a school owned Macbook Air for high school, I was obsessed with macOS. I liked the user interface and the neat animations. I used to have a Dell Latitude D620 that was upgraded to Windows 7. When I realized that with learning and time, I could run macOS on my Latitude which had an Intel Core 2 Duo processor! I got my genuine Snow Leopard 10.6.3 install disk, configured the BIOS, and followed an online guide from the TonyMacx86 website. All was going well until I got to the intro video stage, which had no video output, but there was audio output. I searched online for cases exactly to mine, but there was nothing. I gave up after numerous attempts. I am fine with Hackintoshing as long as if it is for a personal experiment or et cetera. I am not okay with selling Hackintoshes because that gets people into legal trouble. Looking at this subreddit, I have motivation to experiment with Hackintoshing again. I just need a laptop that has an Intel Core i7 processor, and to make an OS X Mavericks install USB! Even though I was and possibly in the future breaking the Apple TOS and EULA, I feel the want to tinker around, have fun, and learn about machines. How about you? What is your story?
