Will Sonoma 14.5 be stable on my mid-2012 map?

I just bought a mid-2012 mbp for its firewire port and to make use of iMovie to directly digitize camcorder footage.

I've already upgrade to Monterey, but realized that it still can't download iMovie.

I've already installed a 500gb SSD and 16gb of ram, I just need to know if Sonoma would be stable on this device, because I'm seeing mixed reviews.

Would I have better luck downloading an old version of iMovie at this point or should I continue updating OS' while I'm here?
