Specs:

Manufacturer - HP

MB - HP 87B7

BIOS revision - AMI F.52

CPU - AMD 3020e (shows up as Intel Core i5 due to the revpatch=sbvmm bootarg to allow updating from Sonoma)

GPU - Integrated AMD Radeon Vega 3

RAM - 8GB DDR4

HDD - Fujitsu 100GB (connected via USB)

Display - 1366x768

Audio - Realtek ALC236

Wireless card - Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165, previously Realtek RTL8821CE

Ethernet card - None

What works

  • Simple boot
  • USB
  • Keyboard
  • Maybe internet if I use itlwm+heliport

What doesn't work

  • Graphics acceleration (NootedRed not yet compatible)
  • Sound (controller not detected whatsoever, works fine on Sonoma and older)
  • Trackpad
  • Internet
  • Battery

In this state, the system is completely unusable for normal tasks. I kind of expected this, but I decided to proceed anyway so I could do some testing. Used the same EFI as Sonoma, with Sequoia patches and a lot of disabled kexts (NootedRed, Intel Wireless, battery kexts and trackpad kexts). I have Windows 11 Canary on the main SSD, and boot Ventura and Sonoma off of another HDD, a 500GB 2.5" Seagate.
