YAY! So happy I got this hackintosh to work so well!
Hardware Details:
CPU: Intel Core i7-8550U
GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 620
RAM: 2x8GB DDR4 (2400MHz)
Laptop Make and Model: Dell Inspiron 5379 2-in-1
Audio Codec: Realtek ALC225 @ Intel Sunrise Point-LP PCH, Intel Kaby Lake HDMI @ Intel Sunrise Point-LP PCH, (Layout ID/alcid=28)
Ethernet Card: No option for ethernet card
Wifi/BT Card: Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174 802.11ac (NOT WORKING), TP-Link Wifi Dongle (Works with RTL8111.kext)
Touchpad/Keyboard and Touch Screen: Not working
Guide Used: Dortania OpenCore Install Guide (Used prebuilt SSDT for Kaby Lake-R)
Storage: Micron 1100 SATA 256GB (Original came with laptop)
What's Not Working:
- Build-in Wifi and Bluetooth (obvious reason Qualcomm is not supported)
- Touchpad, Touch Screen, and Build in Keyboard (Voodoo kexts are not working I believe for any macOS above Monterey)(If anybody has any insights on this I would appreciate the help)
- Headphone Jack (It should work, I believe it is the audio layout issue)(if anybody has insights on audio jack I would appreciate it)
Extra Info:
- Since I knew there is no ethernet port and Qualcomm cards are not supported, I used the Sonoma 14.3 image (got from famous forum that must not be named per rule 6) to create the bootable USB on windows using Rufus.
- Used the HoRNDIS.kext to tether mobile data as hotspot using usb cable for initial wifi needs after first boot etc.
- To use the wifi dongle, also needed to use the Wireless USB Big Sur Adapter (V17) app by Chris1111, of course this means SIP needs to be kept disabled.
- HDMI had the pink tint issue, followed the guide here to fix it.
