During apple logo, the screen becomes garbled and stays that way.

During boot, the screen will suddenly become gsrbled and impossible to use, however outputting an okay image on an external monitor or tv. This can be worked around by selecting scaled resolution, changing to 1600x900 and then back to 1920x1080.
