12” MacBook won’t boot after install

I was able to successfully create the USB installer and reboot into EFI to install macOS (erase and install) and after it successfully installed, the MacBook just won’t boot and gets stuck at a black screen (pre-Apple logo) with no Apple logo and a progress bar that won’t make any progress. Not sure where I would’ve gone wrong, I followed all the steps? Please help 🙏
