Newest sonoma and be opencore crisis help needed

I currently run somoma off a transcend external harddrive with opencore on it attached to my old imac which is a 14.1 model.

I have never had any issue updating before but the lastest opencore version just downloading it causes my computer to free on loading, updating patches freezes it, updating sonoma first freezes it, not updating sonoma first freezes it.

I have had to wipe and time machine ten times now and even then for some reason if i reboot my desk top imagine background remains white and everything drags and struggles. i cant unroot and reroot it causes a freeze. im at a loss, sonoma worked fine until opencore insisted on updating and this new somoma update.

trying to make sense of github at to if 14.1 is supported is a nightmare any idea why it just wont behave. the hhd is way too slow internally for me waiting ten minutes for it to load isnt practical and a new imac is ridiculously priced at the speed they make them obsolete.

any help!?
