Hello everyone,
I need your advice for my use case for a Hackintosh:
I'm a graphic designer, and I use Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Dimension for my work. Currently, I'm on Windows 11, but since 99% of my clients are from the US, they mainly use iMessage to contact me and send updates for designs. Unfortunately, it's not possible to use iMessage on Windows. Additionally, I really admire the simplicity and aesthetics of macOS. So, I'm thinking of using a Hackintosh with my current PC.
I also have an M1 MacBook Pro that was given to me by my former creative agency as a part of my salary. However, I find it really laggy and prone to crashing, especially when handling sizes over 4000px x 4000px in Photoshop and other Creative Cloud apps. So, I gave it to my sister for her schoolwork.
The only thing holding me back right now is Stable Diffusion. Sometimes clients' requests are so ridiculous that I need to get ideas from AI, mainly using Automatic1111 or Forge. However, I've heard there's another UI called Metal Diffusion. Since I don't use AI to train models or Lora, I think it will be sufficient for me.
Here is my current hardware information: - CPU: Intel Core i7 10700K - RAM: 64GB DDR4 3600MHz - Motherboard: Z490 AORUS PRO AX - Storage: 3 x 1TB 980 NVMe and 4TB HDD for storage - GPU: I have 2 GPUs: - RTX 3060 12GB VRAM (I bought it mainly for AI due to its high VRAM) - AMD RX 5700 XT with 8GB VRAM - I also have a Fenvi T919 WiFi card in case my Ethernet does not work.
My questions are: 1. What is the best scenario for using a Hackintosh in my case?
Should I exchange my 2 GPUs for a 6800 or 6900 XT from a local second-hand market?
Should I upgrade my CPU as well? I'm a bit out of pocket at the moment.
A friend advised me to use Proxmox, but I've heard it can't give you full performance.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
