I have a Dell Latitude 5400 laptop (Whiskey Lake CPU) that I hacked 8 months ago and is working great on Ventura 13.6.5 and OpenCore 0.9.9. I had tried to let software update upgrade me to Sonoma but it didn't go well. I see suggestions to do clean install from USB instead of through software update. I've created the install media and was reviewing all the EFI configs and see that most of all the kexts and drivers I'd need haven't been updated since I installed Ventura. Either that or they have newer versions where the new releases do not mention Sonoma or my HW.
So can I just copy my existing working EFI and config.plist onto the USB installer and go with that? It seems like I should be able to since OpenCore supports a wide range of OS versions, and if the version I'm using supports Sonoma (it does) I should be fine.
I appreciate any feedback.
